90mm Rockwool PWCB Cavity and PWCB Cavity Barrier products are specifically designed to offer exceptional fire protection for timber frame and masonry buildings. They are engineered to meet and exceed the minimum building regulation requirements for fire resistance in concealed wall cavities, having undergone rigorous testing and assessment for up to 60 minutes of integrity and insulation.
Crafted from non-combustible stone wool, these cavity wall insulation products are encased in durable polythene sleeves, providing both insulation and weather protection during installation. To facilitate easy differentiation, the sleeves are color-coded, with TCB sleeves in red and PWCB sleeves in white.
The Rockwool cavity barrier serves as an all-in-one solution, fulfilling the trifecta of fire safety, acoustic flanking, and thermal bypass requirements in a single product. Additionally, it effectively seals perimeter edges, reducing air leakage and associated heat loss.
90mm Rockwool TCB Cavity Barrier are versatile and suitable for both vertical and horizontal applications. In vertical installations, the Cavity Barrier's flanges can be securely fastened to the inner leaf at 150mm intervals using staples or clout nails before being compressed by the outer cavity wall. For horizontal applications, only the top flange of the polythene sleeve should be affixed.
Euroclass A1 fire rating: ROCKWOOL Cavity Barriers meet the highest fire safety standards and have been tested and assessed for up to 60 minutes of fire resistance (both integrity and insulation) in accordance with BS 476: Part 20.
90mm Rockwool TCB Cavity Barrier and PWCB Cavity Barrier products have been developed to surpass the minimum Building Regulation requirements for fire resistance within concealed wall cavities.
The TCB Cavity Barrier and PWCB Cavity Barrier are unaffected by building movement, shrinkage, or thermal changes, ensuring consistent performance over time.
These barriers are designed to withstand on-site handling and once installed, they will endure for the lifetime of the structure, providing long-lasting protection.
ROCKWOOL Cavity Barriers offer versatility and can be utilized in both vertical and horizontal applications. In vertical installations, both flanges of the Cavity Barrier can be securely fastened to the inner leaf at 150mm intervals, while in horizontal applications, only the top flange of the polythene sleeve should be fixed.
ROCKWOOL Cavity Barriers effectively prevent flanking noise transmission along concealed cavities in both external wall insulation and separating walls, enhancing acoustic comfort within the building.
