Specification Clause

The chosen wall insulation will be 120mm XtroLiner XO/FB, produced in compliance with EN 13165 by Unilin Insulation. This wall insulation solution consists of a durable modified Polyisocyanurate (PIR) core enclosed by textured, robust, low emissivity foil facings. The specific variant, XtroLiner 120mm XO/FB_ _ _mm, exhibits an Agrément declared Lambda value of 0.021 W/mK.

Resistance ‘R’ Values

The resistance value of any thickness of Unilin 120mm PIR insulation can be ascertained by simply dividing the thickness of the material (in metres) by its agrément declared lambda value, for example: Lambda 0.021 W/mK and thickness 80mm -> 0.080/ 0.021 -> R-Value = 3.80. In accordance with EN 13165, R-Values should be rounded down to the nearest 0.05 (m2K/W).

Guidelines for Handling, Cutting, and Storage

1. To ensure proper storage, 120mm Xtratherm XO/FB insulation should be placed on a clean, flat surface above ground level and kept under cover.
2. Note that relying solely on the polythene wrapping is insufficient to shield the insulation from outdoor conditions.
3. Vigilance is required to safeguard the insulation during storage as well as throughout the construction phase.
4. Always wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling insulation materials.
