Introducing 60mm Unilin Safe-R SR/PR Phenolic Roof Insulation Board for sloped roofs, whether ventilated, hybrid, or warm. It offers the utmost efficiency in U-Values with minimal intrusion into precious living spaces. Roof Insulation plays a pivotal role in the building's thermal performance, representing a high-risk area for heat loss. Employing 60mm Unilin SR/PR mitigates heat loss and simultaneously provides impeccable thermal bridging solutions.
In particular, Warm Roof construction stands out as an effective means of insulating intricate roof designs. By insulating above, or both above and between, the roof timbers, this method ensures that the building structure remains close to or matches the internal environmental conditions. This approach significantly reduces thermal stress and minimizes the risk of condensation.

1.60mm Phenolic Pitched Roof Insulation Board
Integral vapour control layer
- In a traditional ventilated roof setup, it is recommended to maintain a 50mm clear ventilation gap between the insulation and the roofing felt. However, in specific cases where a vapor-permeable membrane is employed, the ventilation gap may be reduced or even eliminated. It is advisable to consult with the roof membrane manufacturer and refer to their guidelines for guidance in such situations.
- In a typical ceiling installation, fiberglass insulation is conventionally positioned between and over the joists. However, this practice conceals the upper part of the joists, potentially raising health and safety concerns when accessing the roof space. To mitigate the thermal bridging issue that occurs through the joists, a layer of SR/PR can be applied to the underside before affixing the plasterboard. An alternative option is to employ Safe-R SR/TB Drylining boards for this purpose. These approaches enable safe access to the roof space while keeping the top of the joists visible, thus facilitating the utilization of the roof space for storage purposes.
Handling, Cutting, and Storage:
- Xtratherm pitched roof insulation must be stored on a clean, level surface that is raised off the ground. It should also be stored under protective cover.
- Please note that the polythene wrapping alone is insufficient for safeguarding the insulation against exposure to the elements.
- Exercise caution to ensure the insulation remains undamaged both during storage and throughout the construction process.
- When handling insulation, always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Certification and Standards:
- BBA Certification Number: 10/4803.
- Compliance with BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Adherence to BS EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Conformance with BS EN 13166 standards.
