100mm Cordek Heaveguard is employed to shield against lateral heave, commonly applied on the inner surface of piled ground beams or deep trench fill foundations.

Suitability

The necessary 100mm Heaveguard eps thickness depends on the anticipated lateral movement and the void recommendations outlined by NHBC, as specified in table one below. It's important to note that Heaveguard, along with other compressible polystyrenes, only compress significantly when loads surpass 20 kN/m2. A 50% compression requires a load of 40 kN/m2. Due to this, 100mm Heaveguard isn't advisable for applications beneath ground floor slabs, piled beams, or pile caps.
