Cordek Heaveguard, with a thickness of 300mm, is an expanded polystyrene (EPS Insulation) material engineered to safeguard foundations from ground heave.

Utilizations

300mm Cordek Heaveguard is employed to shield against lateral heave, commonly applied on the inner surface of piled ground beams or deep trench fill foundations.

Suitability

The necessary 300mm Heaveguard eps thickness depends on the anticipated lateral movement and the void recommendations outlined by NHBC, as specified in table one below. It's important to note that Heaveguard, along with other compressible polystyrenes, only compress significantly when loads surpass 20 kN/m2. A 50% compression requires a load of 40 kN/m2. Due to this, 300mm Heaveguard isn't advisable for applications beneath ground floor slabs, piled beams, or pile caps.
